Requirement/Responsibilities:
Cut tiles and shape them to fit around obstacles and in tight corners using power and hand tools.
Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar with tools such as screeds, brushes, and trowels.
Align tiles and ensure even, precise patterns using straightedges, levels, and squares.
Cut, install, polish, and surface granite and marble, ensuring accuracy for lasting results.
Prepare surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath and ensure surfaces are clean.
Create decorative wall and floor designs by setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms.
Carefully tap tiles into place using tools to properly adhere them to the base without damage.
Follow blueprints precisely, marking and measuring surfaces to determine job requirements.
Candidate requirements:
Willingness to complete on-the-job training.
Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
Outstanding attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills (preferred).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience setting tiles.
Carpentry and renovation experience is a plus.
